Careers don’t always run smoothly and that’s why, at 174 Law, we’re here to help.
If you have any employment disputes, such as such as negotiating your contract or a discrimination case, Unfair dismissal or redundancy, we can provide practical advice to help you make the best out of a stressful or potentially upsetting situation.
Our team will advise you on your rights as an employee and the various options available to you.
How can I resolve a problem at work?
The very first thing you should do is gather as much information available to you as possible. You can talk to us to find out what course of action would be the best for you, along with finding out about any compensation or damages you may be entitled to. We will then help you to try and resolve the dispute before going to an employment tribunal.
However, it may be too late to resolve your case internally – so you will need to approach the Advisory, Conciliation and Arbitration Service (ACAS) to go through the early conciliation service. If ACAS can’t help you to resolve your dispute then we can guide you through a referral to Workplace Mediation and if this is not successful then your submission to the Employment Tribunal all within the requisite prescribed timeframes where we will represent you before an Employment Judge.
The last stage, regardless of whether you went through ACAS or an employment tribunal, is ‘settlement.’ This could include compensation for wages, getting your job back or obtaining an alternative role from your previous employer.
